But it doesn't take much effort to see that brand new tire just doesn't have the same texture, even if there is no trace lubricants, the surface is a lot smoother so it's going to have a lot less contact area then the slightly worn tire.īut regardless, most people have no clue how a tire is made and even if they do they never made actual tests involving physics and wear analytics which go beyond simple stopping distance comparison. I never made claims like that and people who have made these claims here never provided any source, or research, or at least something with more weight then a Reddit post a blogger thought. Hmm, there was a lot of arguments here with people claiming that it's all a myth now, new tires don't need to be scrubbed in, because it is something that was only applicable to tires 30 years ago or so, because during manufacturing there were lubricants used that could have stayed on the tire.
